From Art Nouveau until recently (including Art Deco, the depression years and both World Wars), poster art presented, advertised and encouraged the purchase of alcohol, liquors and food products. Many authentic vintage posters were based around different brands of beverages; cognac, champagne, wine, soda, or places to drink them; bars (Willi’s Wine Bar), dance halls (Moulin Rouge), restaurants. The great poster artists like Cappiello, Robys and Cassandre all had prints in this genre. We have many more food and drink vintage posters that will be displayed shortly |
